I love teaching Kindergarten at Glebe! Other grades I've enjoyed teaching are first grade and second grade. I live in Arlington with my husband, Jeff and two daughters, Emma and Olivia. Emma is a new graduate of JMU and Olivia is a freshman at ODU! We have a black lab mix named Jake who is an important part of our family too! I love taking walks, going to the gym with my mom and daughters, traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

I have been teaching since 1989 and have found my "happy place" both at Glebe and in Kindergarten. When I'm not teaching, you might see me running. I also love to travel.

Bertha Marquina

This is my 30th year working with Arlington County Public Schools! I like going for walks, spending time with my family, and traveling! I have worked with children from all elementary grade levels and dedicated many years working with special needs children. I currently enjoy working with Kindergarteners and leading a crafting class for them after school.
Laurie Smith
Instructional Assistant
I grew-up in Arlington County and after high school I attended Northern Virginia Community College where I earned an associates degree in Early Childhood Development. I worked with infants through two year olds at the Children’s School for ten years before coming to Glebe in 2000. I think it’s pretty neat that I went through the same school system that my Dad did and now I work for the same school system!
